I have been an avid reader all of my life. I feel it is one of the greatest gifts that my mom gave me, the LOVE OF READING. Growing up there were eight of us in our household, my mom, dad, grandma (dad’s mom), two brothers and two sisters. After a long day of laundry, house cleaning etc… my mom’s favorite thing to do was get ready for bed and stretch out on her bed to read. If I agreed to be quiet and read my book, I was welcome to stretch out beside her. Great one on one time with my mom. She turned pages so much faster than me, she loved to read. It was amazing to me at age nine, how thick some of the books she read were. Later in life, we read and shared so many wonderful books and authors.
I highly recommend reading this book. I read it just a few years ago and found it remarkable. I honestly believe everyone should read “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Published in 1852.
